Recruiting a team of lawyers for a leading pharmaceutical company

We received a call from an existing client, a leading pharmaceutical company that was establishing a new division. 

Our brief was to source and appoint three lawyers able to advise this new division across a range of disciplines. Notwithstanding the availability of database candidates, an advertised campaign was agreed to be the preferred method to ensure a good breadth of choice.

Henderson Hall put together a proposal for the client and the terms and roadmap were subsequently agreed.  A carefully targeted and co-ordinated press and Internet advertising campaign generated a high volume response.

Potentially suitable respondents were carefully assessed and considered alongside those on our database.

Within a month of our initial instruction, our client had received three separate shortlists covering the different disciplines they sought.

Client interviews of shortlisted candidates were held at our offices and within five weeks of the commencement of the assignment, our client was in a position to make offers.

We advised the client on acceptable offers which were put to the candidates and all were subsequently accepted.

Recruiting Competition Lawyers for a leading communications company

Our brief was to source experienced specialist competition and regulatory lawyers for a leading communications company.

Our client had been trawling the market for several months and had been using a range of legal recruiters on a contingency basis but without having made any successful appointments.

After a detailed briefing, we drafted and designed an advert to appeal to our target market and secured premium advertising positioning in a range of specialist legal publications and web sites.

Operating within a tight advertising budget we were able to negotiate with the media and ensure the roles were given broad and repeated exposure.

Lawyers responding were carefully assessed and if they appeared potentially suitable, were then interviewed to ensure a close match to the personal as well as technical preferences of the client.

We undertook active networking amongst database candidates and amongst respondents to ensure the pool of candidates under consideration was widened further.

Two separate shortlists were presented to the client complete with all relevant information, including assessments of candidates’ backgrounds, personality traits and anticipated suitability.

After co-ordinating client interviews and assisting with salary negotiations, two experienced lawyers closely matching the client’s ideal profile were appointed.
